posted June 2022: Creston Refugee Committee is looking for an additional volunteer to join its FUNDRAISING TEAM. If you have ideas for fundraising or just want to work alongside others who are motivated in this regard, please find out more about joining this sub-committee! Their 6 children aged 18, 15, 14, 6, 3, 1.
Only Du speaks some English language.
CRC member Jay Dan knows the father and speaks the family’s language.

- Cranbrook airport pick up---We have volunteer vehicles and drivers arranged for this. Thanks, Everyone!!
- Town orientation – walks to RCMP station, schools, grocery store, bank, CBAL, Rec Centre etc.
- Local transportation, using member’s vehicle
- Money management/ budget skills
- Medical/dental help - phone calls, set appointments, remind, fill prescriptions
- Job skills/orientation
- Shopping – help at grocery store, pharmacy, cleaners etc
- Orientation to High School for the teens and ongoing support and liaison
- Orientation to elementary school for younger child and ongoing support
- Recreation – supporting access to indoor recreation
- Recreational – supporting access to free and outdoor recreation
- Language and social support for father, Pong Ram
- Language and social support for mother, Du.
- Fundraising in a leadership role
- Promotion of fundraising – spreading the word
- Fundraising - hands-on work

Tutoring or Translating... a rewarding experience!
ESL volunteers! The Creston Refugee Committee is looking for volunteers to tutor ESL. (English as a Second Language) and is often looking for volunteers to work with immigrants in the Creston area. If interested, please contact Paul Foth at 250-402-9448 or crestonsettlement@cbal.org.
