The Creston Refugee Committee welcomes and supports families or singles whose lives have been disrupted by persecution, extreme unrest, violence, cruel and unusual punishment, human rights violations and/or threat of death. They have been forced to flee their homelands, mostly to refugee camps in other countries. The Creston Refugee Committee, along with Trinity United Church in Creston and Creston residents have welcomed 92 refugees to Creston since 1979.
